TURP (Transurethral Resection Of the Prostate)

Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is a surgery used to treat urinary problems due to an enlarged prostate. Prostate is a small gland in the pelvis only found in men.

If the prostate gland becomes enlarged, it can place pressure on the bladder and urethra. This can cause symptoms that effect urination.

Common symptoms that may arise due to enlarged prostrate include:

  • Problems in starting to urinate.
  • A weak urine flow or stopping and starting.
  • Haring strain to pass urine.
  • Repeated sudden urge to urinate.
  • Unable to empty your bladder.

After TURP patient recover from above mentioned symptoms considerably and lead a normal life.
