Ureterolithotomy

Removing a calculus from upper
ureter using laparoscopy

Ureterolithotomy

Ureterolithotomy is surgery to remove a calculus from ureter, with open surgery or by the help of laparoscopic procedure.

Most ureteral stones form in the kidney and migrate into the ureter. The goal of ureterolithotomy is to remove all stones and fragments and to avoid complications such as causing a ureteral stricture or urine leak.

Surgical therapy depends on the size and location of the stone in the upper (Proximal) third, middle third, or lower (distal) third of the ureter.

We have a well-equipped Nephrology-Urology department that provides treatment both by conservative approach as well as by cutting edge surgery by specialist consultants.
